Legal Risk Mitigation (Art. 30)
GermanyEAA Article 30 requires penalties to be effective, proportionate, and dissuasive. Fines for non-compliance in Germany are capped at €100,000.
Methodology & Assumptions
Audience Prevalence: WHO estimates that 15-20% of the global population lives with a disability. In the EU, Eurostat (Disability statistics — prevalence and demography, 2022) reports that approximately 24% of adults aged 16+ have some form of activity limitation. This calculator defaults to 15% but is adjustable based on your target market demographics.
Conversion Parity: The model assumes that removing accessibility barriers brings the conversion rate of disabled users to parity with your non-disabled user base. In practice, disabled users exhibit 70%+ brand loyalty to accessible platforms, potentially yielding higher LTV.
Legal Risk: Avoided fine estimates are pulled from the EAA Fine Engine, based on national transpositions of Directive 2019/882. Fines are administrative and separate from potential private litigation or reputational damage costs.
